All we keep hearing when referring to the surf.. "this is how it used to be in Nicaragua". What do this mean? Perfect waves and no crowds! Waves are 3-4 ft. with great shape, ocean surface is glassy, water is warm and there are no crowds. Stay stoked and positive!
The swell is still here and a bit smaller. There are so many places to surf around Popoyo and the main break is still firing. Waves are 4-6 ft. with glassy ocean conditions and light off-shore winds. If you travel it is advised to by-pass Managua and fly into Costa Esmeralda Airport.
Popoyo is Pumping and only a few are around to charge it! Waves are 6-8 ft with perfect shape, light off-shore winds and no crowds. This is what Popoyo can do when all the conditions line up for epic surf sessions. More swell will continue the next few day. Enjoy!
No roadblocks in the water... just grinding barrels! Waves are 2-4 ft with some really fun sets rolling through at low tide. Winds are light off-shore and water is warm. There are a ton of fish jumping around, so if you don't like to surf. Go fishing! Stay Safe..
Our magical little bubble here in Popoyo makes you feel nothing is happening anywhere else. Waves are rolling in at 2-3 ft with light off-shore winds, crowds are light for obvious reasons and we are making the best of the situation. Stay safe and pray for Nicaragua!!
The month of June is really proving to be great for surfing sandbars. Waves are are 3-4 ft with some incredible shack time, light off-shore winds and light crowds. If you are here in Nicaragua you are scoring and if you want to come, stop dreaming and make it a reality.
