I just was talking to a good friend, neighbor and photographer John M. yesterday. I've got to tell you how amazed we are about the surf that we've been receiving here in Popoyo, Nicaragua. Of the 7 years that we've lived here we both pretty much agreed that this has been the most swell producing off season here in Popoyo that we have ever seen. Although we usually get the occasional head high swell in the off season - dry season, making Popoyo a very playful type wave, we have been surprised to see Popoyo's Outer Reef breaking often as well! Here are 7 photos of the Outer Reef that were taken a couple of days ago. We really think that this up coming 2011 surf season is going to be all time for surfers!
