I'm happy to say that we have our reliable offshore winds again! This seems to happen every year, it's the gamble that you take. Here is the answer to a question I get asked a lot: In the rainy season or Nicaragua's winter season (May - November) you are bound to get plenty of south swell activity. However onshore winds can happen if there is a hurricane or just about any type of weather disturbance in other areas like Florida, Cuba, Jamaica, etc... The rare disturbance off the Pacific coast sometimes will turn the wind for the worse too. During the dry season or Nicaragua's summer season (December-April) we receive less south swells but some west swells do make it in. The dry season produces consistent offshore winds with strong offshores usually starting up in mid February and lasting until the rainy season starts beginning of May. So there you have it. See ya here in Nicaragua!
